The All Wales Core Dataset consists of data reports that Welsh Government share with every primary and secondary school and local authority in Wales.

The Welsh Government Data Science Unit have been working with statisticians and school policy colleagues to automate the production of these reports. This is an interim solution to help support the self-evaluation of learning and progress.

Join this session to learn more about how the unit have used:

SQL to automate data processing at scale
R to build a reproducible analytical pipeline
RMarkdown to build PDF reports customised to each school
logging and quality assurance to validate the reports
coding best practices to enable efficient and bilingual reporting
their own custom built R packages to help others in future

The Data Science Unit have written a blog post as an introduction to one of the R packages they will be discussing in this webinar.
