We’re happy to confirm that our next User Research in Wales Community in-person meet up will be on Thursday 26 June in Urban Centric (formerly BizSpace), Cardiff.
Previously, community members told us that they want to share and learn about what research is happening in the Welsh public sector, to help to find opportunities to collaborate with each other and seek peer support. They also said they would like creative research ideas to inspire new ways of thinking and problem solving on projects.
We’ve designed a day around these needs, and we hope you can join us for a fun day of learning and sharing.
Agenda:
10am to 10.30am Arrive, coffee and chat
10.30am to 10.45am Welcome and intro
10.45 am to 12.00pm Speed talks: 5 min talks on research happening in Wales and questions
12.00pm to 12.30pm Networking: work the room, talk to different people, find out:
- What you can learn from each other
- How you can help each other
12.30pm to 1.15pm Lunch
1.15pm to 2.00pm Talk: Creative research and in-person methods
2.00pm to 3.30pm Activity: Challenge conventional methodologies by applying more creative research approaches

What we need from you
We need you to share your work and stories to make the day a success. Please email us if you’re able to:
- Do a 5-minute lightning talk
- Share examples of in-person or creative research methods or projects you’ve done (all suggestions welcome!)
We would love to hear from a variety of voices. You don’t have to have done a talk before or have the most advanced/exciting research. If you’re not sure whether to do one or not, please message us and we can help you.
We hope to see you there!
