'What does good look like?' with Rebecca Godfrey, Chief Operating Officer, Welsh Revenue Authority
Background
The Welsh Revenue Authority manage two devolved taxes for the Welsh Government. These are Land Transaction Tax and Landfill Disposals Tax. The taxes replaced Stamp Duty Land Tax and Landfill Tax in Wales from 1 April 2018.
Since their formation by the Welsh Government in autumn 2017, they’ve introduced a 'Welsh way of doing tax'. They start from a position of trust and take a supportive approach to managing tax: helping people to pay the right tax at the right time.
As they’ve matured, they’ve started to develop their data and digital capabilities in-house. This helps to improve their service delivery and better meet their user needs. They've also started on a journey towards becoming an organisation structured around services.
Their people and their culture are central to their journey so far and will remain so in the years to come.
