Last week was Digital Leaders Week, an event focused on digital transformation with 300 speakers and 200 separate events aimed at sharing good practice. Knowledge sharing and building capability are part of what we do at CDPS so we were really happy to take part in the week and share some of our work. In case you missed them, here’s a short overview of the sessions we were involved in and the links to watch them on replay.
The launch event
The week kicked off with a launch event where Lee Waters, Deputy Minister for Climate Change talked about the need for leaders to think differently about digital, focusing on culture and change. Lee talked about the role of the Centre and shared his definition of digital ‘For me it’s about putting the user at the centre... at the core of the new Wales Digital Strategy is user needs. Tackling old problems in a new way is at the heart of our digital strategy’.

Focusing on delivery: collaboration, users and new ways of working
On Friday, we hosted a session about our first demonstrator project, Accessing Adult Social Care. We heard from some of the team, including colleagues from Neath Port Talbot Council and Torfaen County Borough Council, about working together through discovery to the current beta phase. They shared their main learning points, what it’s been like to be involved and what’s next.

It was great to have the opportunity to be part of event focusing on digital and knowledge sharing and to see so many individuals and organisations getting involved and sharing their knowledge and learning.
