Aims

We wanted out more about how the public sector can use digital technology to help Wales reach net zero gas emissions.

The problem we're solving

Wales has committed to reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050 or sooner.

The Digital Strategy for Wales outlines the opportunity for digital technology to contribute to decarbonisation.

This discovery explored current and potential good practice in linking digital use and lower global heating emissions.

Partners

We partnered with Perago and M-SParc science park to run this discovery project.

A summary of the work

We researched current green tech practices and policy in Wales, the UK and internationally during this project.

We also did some user research with people involved in the UK digital technology and environmental sectors to understand good practices. These were digital technology leaders, senior procurement officers and grant awarders for digital projects

Our weeknotes, show and tells and blog posts were all ways of raising awareness of this work and engaging other important stakeholder.
