Our aim is to run an exemplary organisation that shares it resources and expertise to help others.
Our product manager, Lauren Power, took part in the Future Generations Leadership Academy this year, which supports young people with opportunities to learn and enhance their leadership skills in Wales today and in the future, which will help us prepare for the year ahead.
Our leadership team saw 2 new members join this year, bringing expertise from operations and technology, bringing the total to 6 people on our leadership team.
We commissioned an equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) consultant to support us on our EDI journey. Through an extensive audit, we have identified a number of strengths that we would like to build on and some areas that we can develop over the next year.
We continued our investment in building a permanent team of staff and saw 27 colleagues join us through the year, and this intensive recruitment drive has been supported by our enabled contract with Yolk Recruitment.
We have brought our finance function in-house which has already seen huge benefits.
We have strengthened our governance processes and reporting and held our first board and leadership team awayday. We have also invested in the development of our board members through coaching and training.
Our procurement training has enabled us to demonstrate value for money and social value.
We have sourced and implemented a new HR system which has vastly improved our HR reporting. We have also focused on our employee lifecycle to improve areas including recruitment, induction, and performance management.
We have invested in our staff development during the year with involvement from staff on Welsh Government’s Leadership Development Programme, Leadership Summer School, Future Generations Leadership Academy, Leading in a Bilingual Country, Agile and product manager coaching, and i-act (for positive mental health and wellbeing) training. Training has also been introduced to support with EDI, wellbeing, and line management.
