Outcomes for 2025/26:  

  • Continue to develop the Service Manual

Quarter 1

  • Explore how we can develop the Service Manual with a focus on reusing and signposting to existing content and best practice  
  • Publish service manual content on user-centred design and bilingual design, and promote existing Service Manual content

Quarter 2

  • Expand the Service manual by adding or signposting to the existing content and best practice identified in quarter 1, and develop a communications plan for its promotion

Quarter 3

  • Create and publish new, original content to the Service Manual, filling any gaps not met by signposting or existing content
  • Communicate the benefits of using the Service Manual through promotion and case studies

Quarter 4

  • The service manual has content that supports people to meet all 12 points of the Digital Service Standard for Wales
  • There is a plan for ongoing management and future development of the Service Manual  
  • People across the public sector in Wales are aware of the Service Manual and using it

Digital and Data Standards Board for Wales  

Outcomes for 2025/26:  

  • Convene the Board for the endorsement of appropriate standards and promote the endorsed standards

  • Rename the Group and appoint a new chair
  • Review the terms of reference and governance processes
  • Endorse 3 to 5 appropriate standards and promote new and existing standards. Develop and publish a backlog of standards for consideration.

  • Endorse 2 to 3 standards and promote them
  • Develop process for ongoing review and updating of endorsed standards

Quarter 3

  • Endorse 2 to 3 standards and promote them through case studies

Quarter 4

  • Endorse 2 to 3 standards and promote them through case studies

Leadership training  

Outcomes for 2025/26:  

  • Deliver and transition the Leading Modern Public Services Training Programme from Supplier to in-house

  • Conclude Cohort 2
  • Use feedback to refine the programme and prepare for the transition to CDPS delivery

Quarter 2

  • Finalise the preparation for CDPS-led delivery

Quarter 3

  • Deliver Cohort 3 in collaboration with the supplier, evaluate and iterate

Quarter 4

  • Deliver Cohort 4 led by CDPS and publish a blog post

AI Leadership  

Outcomes for 2025/26:  

  • The AI Leadership Group for Wales is convened by CDPS and oversees further join-up around use of AI, including the development of a list of relevant AI training for the sector and a register of activity

  • Create steering group, review and collate AI training content ready for promotion and use on CDPS website and Digital Sharing Hub

  • Recommend adoption of an AI standard
  • Share AI training content with stakeholders and assess user feedback

  • Recommend and report on the adoption of an AI standard. Refine AI training content and explore opportunities for its expansion

Quarter 4

  • Recommend and report on the adoption of an AI standard. Continue promoting the AI training content with monitoring and reporting

Digital Sharing Hub

Outcomes for 2025/26:  

  • Actively share and encourage public sector to share experiences and learning opportunities, and promote best practice

  • Establish links between the CDPS website and the Hub
  • Launch a 12-month comms campaign
  • Define and track metrics

Quarter 2

  • Monitor and maintain the Digital Sharing Hub and simultaneously monitor GDS AI hub activity for opportunities to cross reference
  • Continue the comms campaign

Quarter 3

  • Conduct evaluation of its usage and iterate based on insights
  • Launch refreshed comms campaign

Quarter 4

  • Maintain the Hub and continue to report on key metrics

Wider digital training
