Hello, I'm the Delivery Manager for our digital services team. My role is to enable our team to deliver value with efficiency and effectiveness. Let me show you what that looks like day-to-day.
Every day starts with a stand-up. It’s a quick catch up, around 15 minutes or so. It's one of the 4 Agile events I facilitate in our team. Here everyone shares 3 things:
- what they worked on yesterday
- what they’re focused on today
- and if they have any blockers
My job is to listen, identify obstacles, and clear them away so the team can keep moving forward. It also helps me to track the team's progress towards our goals.
Collaboration with the Product Manager and Product Team is essential. We work together to plan work, set clear goals, and align on what success looks like. Today, we’re reviewing the team’s velocity from the last sprint and using that data to plan our next cycle. It’s all about ensuring we’re delivering value while maintaining a sustainable pace.
Sometimes, issues come up that need immediate attention. For example, today a developer is facing a delay due to an external dependency. I’m here to coordinate with external teams, find solutions, and reduce delays. This means the Product Team can continue to focus on building the solution.
My role isn’t only about delivery; it’s about culture and collaboration. I ensure the team works well together, follows Agile principles, and improves over time. The goal? Deliver great digital services that make a difference for our users.
